Good Fun with Good Friends

This layout features some great photos from a slumber party that my Mom had in High School in 1958! Aren't they fabulous?!?

The papers and alphabet stickers are from Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry collection.

I LOVE scrapping older photos!

Dear Santa...

Some of my customers asked for an idea for a kids Christmas wish list. Something other than a scrap of paper that they've scribbled on and also some way to archive it for the future.

I found some great magnetic holiday list pads at Target in their dollar spot and made this holder to put it in. It features papers from My Minds Eye's Merry Days of Christmas collection

I also used American Crafts Sprinkles Thickers in white for a title

I cut santa out of one of the circle tags from the tag sheet that comes with the collection when you get it from Memory Works to decorate the band that holds the project closed

Here you can see the holder opened up and the list pad inside. The saying on the left is also from the die cut sheet that came in the theme kit! I just cut it in half to fit the space I had.

And here is a page I created for the list to go after the holiday is over! It uses that same My Minds Eye collection and I still have lots of papers & die cuts leftover!

There are those great Thickers again! I've still got oodles of those left too!

Since I only used one sheet for this page, you can use others for other pages for multiple children. You can also use the list pad and holder for more than one year!!!

I think a photo of the child asleep on Christmas Eve in their special holiday PJ's would look darling on this page!!! I'll have to hound my Sister in Law for photos of my niece and/or nephews or maybe my Sons and Girlfriend in Laws for some GRANDBABIES!!! ;)

Happy creating!

Christmas Planner

I've been wanting to create one of these planners for a while now & finally got around to it today!

I need to thank Heather for creating the .pdf downloads for the insert pages as well as a video and directions for creating one of these with the Bind it all and #10 envelopes since I had those and not file folders like you see so many of these made with! You should check out her blog when you have the chance!

The papers and Rub Ons used are from BoBunny's Tis the Season collection

I love when patterned papers have elements that you can cut out of them to use as embelishments!

I think the menu planner & recipe pages are a nice touch!

The pockets are made from #10 envelopes cut in half on a diagonal

And I left a couple of envelopes whole so that they can be used for receipts, gift cards and coupons.

I used several different fonts for the words printed onto cardstock since I didn't have stamps for the words that I wanted

I hope you're inspired to start planning for the holidys, or at least to make a planner!

Veterans Thanks

Veterans Day is aproaching and what better way to say Thank You than with a card? I created this one for a challenge on the new Memory Works Studio site and I plan to make a couple of them and send them to a local VA hospital.

It features papers from Basic Grey's Indian Summer collection (left over from yesterday's make & take project). The stamps used are from CTMH and TAC. I used Tim Holtz Distress ink in Vintage Photo to stamp the images and distress the paper edges.

I hope this inspires you to do something nice to thank a veteran today!

Count Your Blessings

Just a quick post today of the Post-it note holder make & take I created for the Memory Works party I'm doing for my friend Glenda this weekend!

It features papers from Basic Grey's Indian Summer collection. I used my favorite new tool, the Crop a Dile Corner Chomper from We R Memory Keepers and I added a little bling to the flower (and leaves from Prima Marketing) with a touch of Gold Stickles.

Happy Fall Y'all!

Love you to Death!

Halloween has come and gone, but I'm still in the mood so I created this card for HDH's Macarbe Monday #011 challenge which was to create something in the theme of Lurid Love

I believe the fairy couple is from CTMH and I colored them in with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I used Stickles in Lime Green on their wings, sparkle spots, and the computer generated sentiment (font is Chiller)

The metalic pink lips paper is from DCWV's Rock Star 9x9 paper pad. The brackets (from Fancy Pants) are spray painted with Black Cherry Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. The flowers are from Daisy D's (I miss them!!!) and the flower button in the center is from my big treasure jar.

*sigh*

At least my Madd Scientist of a husband is twisted enough to appreciate a card like this!

Just 365 days 'til Halloween again!
